Achiever's Center for Education || Boerne Texas Event Photographer

This is my second year as event photographer for the Denim, Diamonds, and Daffodils Gala for the Achiever's Center for Education. The staff and students do an excellent job decorating and hosting the event! They make the evening so very special!

We added a photobooth this year, and it was a big hit!
Many thanks to my new friend Abbs D for helping me out :) You were fabulous.

Zio's catered the meal of delicious Italian food...so yummm.

What did I tell you? Pretty decorations, and scrumptious food :)

Mark Swayze provided the music, and all the students joined him on stage for a few songs!

The evening ends with a lively fundraising auction of the fantastic donation items and lovely centerpieces.

I'm looking forward to next year!

Here's where you can find out more!

allie dean eats || finnish pancake

I've got a little something scrumptious for your weekend breakfast!

Ever had a Finnish pancake?

We usually have it on Christmas morning, but as we've been getting more eggs recently, it's been frequenting our plates more often :)

Finnish Pancake

Preheat oven to 425F.
In a 9x13 dish, melt
1/2 cup of butter
in the oven as it heats up.
When it sizzles, remove from oven.

In a blender, combine
5 jumbo eggs (or 6-7 regular),
1 cup milk,
1/4 cup orange juice,
1/2 cup sugar,
1 cup all-purpose flour,
1/4 tsp salt.
Pour blended batter into the dish and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until puffed and brown.
Top with powdered sugar, if desired.

Try it and let me know what you think!
It's also yummy with a side of bacon or sausage...the flavor of the meat cuts the richness of the pancake.
Have a cuppa tea or coffee, and a bowl of fruit, too :)
For gluten-free eaters, try an alternative flour or mix. If you use coconut flour, it will probably work best to use 1/4 - 1/3 cup of flour.

P.S. Don't forget the flour...you can't tell in the photos, but for this pancake I did...definitely makes a difference in the texture...hehe.

Wedding Joy || David & Elizabeth

Hello dear blog-world :)
It's about time for another blog post, so I bring you another August wedding!

This one took place in my home-state of Michigan, between a long-time friend of ours and his precious lady.

Dad & 4 of the 5 sons.
So....I remember when 3 of them were babies in high-chairs.
And now? Some of the manliest "brothers" I have.
